Pune Fire: Over 50 Vehicles Destroyed in Blaze at Yerwada Land Records Office
Yerwada, 23rd February 2026: A major fire broke out in the open premises of the Land Records Office in Yerwada on Monday afternoon, gutting more than 50 parked vehicles, including two-wheelers and cars. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm and caused panic in the area, officials said.
Four fire engines were rushed to the spot after the blaze was reported. Firefighters managed to bring the flames completely under control after intensive efforts, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and records.
Preliminary information suggests that the vehicles were parked in the open compound when they suddenly caught fire. The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, and authorities have initiated an inquiry.
No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Officials said an assessment of property damage is underway, while safety checks are being conducted at the site.
