Pune: Five Persons Booked For Social Boycott Of Family After Inter-Caste Marriage

Dattawadi, 20th December 2021: Pune city police has booked five persons allegedly boycotting a man’s family from society after his inter-caste marriage.

A 69-year-old man from Khadki has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Dattawadi police station. A case has been registered against Arjun Ramchandra Gawli, Haribhau Hiranawale, Chandrakant alias Balu Aurangzeb and their two accomplices.

According to the police, the complainant was called by his relatives to an engagement ceremony at Aranyeshwar Gawaliwada. The accused asked him why he had come for the ceremony as his son is married to a girl from outside their caste.
The accused stopped him from participating in the social function and his family has been expelled from the community.

After a complaint was received, police registered the case and further investigation is going on.
