Pune: Five-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Buried Under Sand, Three Family Members Injured
Nasrapur, 10th November 2025: A tragic incident occurred in the Nasrapur area of Bhor taluka, where a five-year-old boy died after being buried under a heap of sand while a dumper was unloading construction material. The boy’s mother, brother, and cousin were also buried under the sand but were rescued and treated at a private hospital before being discharged.
The deceased has been identified as Alok Ashok Kachre (5), while his mother Aarti (35), brother Shlok (6), and cousin Priyanka (15) sustained minor injuries in the mishap. The Rajgad police have registered a case against the dumper driver for negligence leading to the accident.
According to police, the Kachre family resides in Dhangar Vasti in the Nasrapur area. Their old house had recently been demolished, and construction work for a new house was underway. The family was temporarily living in a tin shed nearby.
On Saturday (November 8), Ashok Kachre had requested sand from a local construction material supplier. Around 1:30 pm, a dumper arrived at the site to deliver the sand. While the sand was being unloaded, Alok and the others were reportedly standing close by when the pile suddenly collapsed, burying them under the debris.
Locals rushed to the spot and managed to pull the family members out before taking them to a nearby private hospital, where Alok was declared dead.
Further investigation into the incident is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Firoz Mulani of the Rajgad police station.
