Pune: Five Young Women Detained and One Person Arrested in Wanowrie Prostitution Raid
Wanowrie, 18th April 2023: In a crackdown on prostitution, the social security cell of Pune police crime branch carried out a raid on a massage parlor running as a front for prostitution in the Fatimanagar area of Wanowrie, Pune.
On Saturday, April 15th, the police detained five young women and arrested one person in connection with the illegal business.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted the raid on Cleiou’s Spa and Salon at Tain Square in Fatimanagar, where prostitution was being carried out under the guise of massage services. During the operation, the police detained five young women who were found working at the massage parlor.
The manager of the massage parlor, Sridhar Mohan Salunkhe, a 42-year-old resident of Kasba Peth, has been arrested for his involvement in running the illegal prostitution business. A case has been registered against him at Wanowrie police station for inducing young women to engage in prostitution.
