Pimpri Chinchwad: Woman Detained in Kidnapping Case Found Dead At Police Chowky, Suicide Suspected
Nigdi, 18th April 2023: A woman suspected of being involved in a kidnapping case has allegedly taken her own life at the Nigdi Ota scheme police chowky under Pimpri Chinchwad police. The incident occurred on Monday at around 4 pm.
According to officials, the Nigdi police had detained the 29-year-old female suspect from Ahmednagar while investigating a kidnapping case registered on April 12. While being interrogated, the suspect went to the bathroom at the police chowky and hanged herself using a sweater from an iron grill.
The woman was accompanied to the toilet by a female police constable, who waited outside the bathroom for her. After the suspect did not emerge for an extended period, the door was broken down, revealing the incident.
A case of a accidental death has been registered at the Nigdi police station. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will be leading the investigation into this tragic event.
