Pune: Flood Sensor Stolen From Drainages Installed By PMC, Danger To Lives Of Drivers And Pedestrians

Pune, 20 July 2021: A flood sensor has been stolen from drainages near Prayeja City within the limits of Sinhagad police station. The drainages are overflowing due to rains for the last two days.

Citizens noticed despite the overflowing sensor did not blow. A female with her scooter was swept away during heavy rains in 2019 at this place. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has installed flood sensors on the bridges over rivers and drainages. But in the last two years, many flood sensors have been stolen. Cases have been registered in various police stations in this regard.

A case of theft of flood sensor has been registered at Sinhagad police station. Due to the current heavy rains, rivers and streams are overflowing. This endangers the lives of drivers and pedestrians.
