Pimpri, 2nd February 2022: Former BJP Deputy Mayor and current corporator Keshav Gholave has been arrested by the Pimpri Police for extorting Rs 55,000. Names of four others have also come forward.

The accused have been identified as Guddu alias Pramod Yadav, Ghansham Yadav, Malka Yadav, Keshav Gholave and Hasrat Ali Sheikh. A 45-year-old man has lodged a complaint with Pimpri Police station in this regard.

According to police, as the land at Nepali Market is going to the Metro project, the traders there will get 100 floors through the government. However, the accused conspired to get flats from the municipal corporation to the complainants and other traders from 2019 to date, alleging that the BJP Kamgaar Aghadi had cheated the Maharashtra Pradesh organization to get a receipt of Rs 1200. Gholwe also took a took Rs 55,000. However, the accused had demanded Rs one lakh.

The complaint also states that he received death threats while protesting against the accused in this regard.
