Pune: Railway Recovers Rs 4.31 Lakh Fine From Passengers Fined For Not Wearing Face Masks

Pune, 2nd February 2022: In January 2705 railway passengers have been fined for not wearing face masks under the Pune Railway division. An amount of Rs 4 lakh 31 thousand has been recovered from these people as fine. During the period of ten months from April to January, 10 lakh 91 thousand rupees have been recovered as fine from 5499 passengers without masks.

 

People who are fined for not wearing masks receive a mask along with a fine receipt. This initiative of the Railways will create awareness among the passengers and help them to understand the seriousness of the epidemic.

 

As part of the measures to deal with the current situation due to the Corona pandemic, the Pune Railway Division has requested the passengers to wear face masks in the station premises and during the train journey.

 

“Passengers are advised to not spit and litter the station and trains. The passengers are also asked to help the railway administration in maintaining cleanliness. They are urged to follow all norms, SOPs related to COVID-19 in railway premises including all trains, suburban trains”, railways stated in a press release.
