Pune: Four Arrested in Wagholi for Marijuana Smuggling; Police Seize Over 4 kg of Ganja

Wagholi, 1st March 2025: Pune Police arrested four individuals, including a minor, for marijuana smuggling across Maharashtra in a late-night operation on 26th February. The Detection Branch (DB) of Wagholi Police Station seized 4.771 kg of ganja and other items valued at over Rs 1 lakh during the raid, which took place around 1:15 AM.

The adult suspects were identified as Nagesh Sunil Lashkare (20), Saurabh Namdevrao Tapase (22), and Rizwan Ismail Shaikh (39). A case has been registered at Wagholi Police Station against all four individuals involved in the smuggling operation.

Police reports indicate that the seized items include 4.771 kg of ganja and a motorcycle, with a total estimated value of Rs 1.04 lakh. The arrests were made following a tip-off received by Police Constable Mote while patrolling the Gore Wasti area of Wagholi.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior Pune Police officials, with Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad leading the team. Constable Mote reported the incident to the police station, which formed the basis for the case filing. Wagholi Police are investigating the matter further.
