Pune: Four Blackbucks Killed By Stray Dogs At Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park

Katraj, January 7, 2021: Four Blackbucks were killed by stray dogs at the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in Katraj. There were 34 blackbucks in the Pune zoo, out of which four Blacbucks died in the attack of stray dogs.

It is estimated that stray dogs entered through the broken wall of the zoo. The incident happened on Wednesday morning. After entering the zoo, the dogs attacked the Blackbucks. Amongst the four killed Blackbucks, two are males and two are females. Another Blackbuck was injured in the incident. Earlier there have been 15 to 20 similar incidents of stray dogs attacking animals at the zoo.

Meanwhile, after the incident, the staff immediately chased away the dogs, according to zoo officials. Besides, a report of the incident has been sent to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). With the death of four blackbucks, the number of blackbucks at the zoo is now only 30.
