Pune: Four Booked, Sound Equipment Seized For Violating Noise Limits During Ganapati Processions in Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th September 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad police have registered four cases against Ganesh mandal office-bearers and sound system operators for allegedly violating permissible noise limits during Ganapati processions.
Two FIRs were registered by Pimpri police on Wednesday, while Nigdi police registered two cases on Tuesday. As part of the action, police seized sound systems, loudspeakers, amplifiers, generators and vehicles used during the processions.
A Pimpri police officer said that on September 14, teams found music being played at excessive volume in Dattanagar and Mohanagar areas of Chinchwad, as well as in Yamunanagar under the jurisdiction of Nigdi police. Cases were subsequently registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
