Pune: Four Persons Burnt to Death in Truck Collision Near Swaminarayan Mandir

Narhe, 16th October 2023: A goods truck en route to Gujarat from Vita in the Sangli district caught fire after colliding with another heavy vehicle. The incident occurred around 9 pm on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway near the Swaminarayan Mandir.

 

Out of the six individuals in the truck that caught fire, two have been admitted to a local hospital with injuries. Tragically, the remaining four have reportedly succumbed to their injuries, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Zone 3, Suhel Sharma.

 

Fire brigade officials confirmed that the deceased include a man, a woman, and two children.

 

Pune Police and Pune Fire Brigade, in collaboration with PMRDA fire services and other agencies, are currently working to clear the highway obstruction to ensure smooth traffic flow. An alternative route has been provided in the meantime.

 

“Based on the statement of one of the injured passengers, a police investigation is currently underway,” added DCP Sharma.
