Pune: Four-Year-Old Girl Sold For Rs 2,000 By Parents, Case Registered
Pune 14th Sept 2023: In a shocking incident reported in Yerawada, a four-year-old girl was sold to men by her own parents for Rs 2,000. The girl was purchased by a few men to use her to beg money in the city. In a more shocking revelation, the whole deal was done before a group of people claiming to be members of Caste Panchayat.
The incident came to light after a case was registered by an advocate with Yerawada police station. According to the complaint, the parents had sold their daughter to three men against Rs 2,000. The accused identified as Anil Jadhav, Laxmi Jadhav and Laxxman Nimbalkar who purchased the girl took her to Supe in Baramati and used her to beg money on the streets.
The police have also booked the members of the caste panchayat in the matter. The accused claimed that they had adopted the girl from parents and they were taking care of her. The police are investigating further in the matter. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of children in the city as the parents themselves turned out to be accused in this case.
