Pune: Four Youths Booked For Assaulting And Urinating On Minor Boy During Birthday Celebration At Lonavala Hotel

Lonavala, 1st February 2024: Four individuals, identified as Yusuf Vadgama, Ali Vadgama, Shish Vadgama, and Mohammad, have been formally charged by the Lonavala Police for engaging in reprehensible actions towards a 15-year-old acquaintance at a hotel in Lonavala. The accused face charges including urinating on the victim, extortion, verbal abuse, and physical assault.

According to details extracted from the FIR, the victim accompanied his friends and the accused to a Lonavala hotel to celebrate the birthday of co-accused Ali Vadgama on December 10, 2023. Following a day of celebration, the victim returned to the hotel room and awoke to find Yusuf Vadgama urinating on him while Shish Vadgama recorded the incident.

Distressed, the victim sought refuge in the hotel room’s bathroom. However, the ordeal did not end there, as Yusuf Vadgama then demanded Rs 500 from the victim. Upon refusal, the victim faced verbal abuse and physical assault with a belt. Fearful for his safety, the victim coerced his mother into transferring Rs 500. Subsequently, under duress, the victim persuaded his mother to transfer an additional Rs 1000.

Initially, the victim refrained from disclosing the incident due to intimidation. However, upon revealing the ordeal to his mother, a formal complaint was filed with the Lonavala City Police on January 29, 2024.

The Lonavala City Police have registered a case against the four accused under Sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 384 (Punishment for extortion), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Ongoing investigations are being conducted into this disturbing incident to ensure justice is served.
