Pune : From Back Pain To High BP, Inmates At Yerwada Jail Have Different Health Problems To Spend Months In Sassoon Hospital

Pune 4th Oct 2023: The issue of inmates of Yerawada Central Jail spending months in jail for various problems has raised eyebrows of many after the details of some of admitted patients were revealed. It was revealed that many of them lodged in jail for serious offences have spent months in the ward no 16 of Sassoon General hospital for various health related issues.

This came after a criminal arrested for drug trafficking was found running the racket from inside the hospital ward and he later managed to escape from the hospital. The shocking detailes revealed that some of the prisoners have been admitted to the hospital for health issues such as back pain, high blood pressure, food digestion problem etc.

According to a report published in Pudhari among those lodged in jail include Viral Prakash Savla (34) who is suffering from high blood pressure and has been in hospital for the last 274 days. The other inmates include Anil Bhosale (56), admitted to hospital for kidney problem for the last 130 days. Rupesh Marne (47) admitted for the last 42 days due to breathing problem, Vinay Aranha (50) admitted for the last 19 days due to digestion related problem, Hemant Balaji Patil (41) admitted to the hospital for back pain related problem for the last 60 days, Aditya Marne (35) is in hospital for skin related disease for the last 28 days.

The other inmates admitted to hospital include Pravin Raut (38) suffering from piles, Haridas Sathe (72) admitted for apendix treatment and Shivaji Dnyanoba Dorge (50) for Harnia treatment.
