Pune: Ganesh Bidkar’s ‘One Call, Problem Solved’ Initiative Brings Relief To Ward 24 Residents
Pune, 4th January 2026: With Pune having remained under administrative rule for the past three years in the absence of an elected municipal body, residents have faced increasing difficulties in getting routine civic issues addressed. Against this backdrop, former Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Leader of the House Ganesh Bidkar’s ‘One Call, Problem Solved’ initiative has emerged as a key support system for citizens in ward number 24.
Residents have often had to make repeated visits to civic offices for issues related to water supply, drainage, road repairs, construction permissions, maintenance work, and matters linked to departments such as the road and cultural wings. Bidkar’s initiative seeks to cut through this process by offering a single-point contact, where a phone call triggers swift on-ground action.
Despite the absence of a functioning municipal council, Bidkar has put in place a dedicated team to respond to complaints. Once a call is received, the team coordinates with concerned officials and visits the spot to ensure that the issue is addressed without delay. According to residents, this approach has reduced the need for repeated follow-ups and visits to government offices.
Citizens in the ward have welcomed the initiative, saying it has helped bridge the gap created by the lack of elected corporators during the administrative period. Many have noted that everyday civic problems are being resolved faster, bringing a sense of accountability and responsiveness back to local governance.
Speaking about the initiative, Ganesh Bidkar said that elected representatives serve as a crucial link between the administration and citizens. “The idea behind ‘One Call, Problem Solved’ is to ensure that people receive quick, transparent and accessible services. Civic issues do not stop just because there is no municipal body, and addressing them remains our responsibility,” he said.
