Mohol said, “owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have appealed the residents to immerse the idols at their homes and we received a good response to it. I appeal once again keeping in mind the safety and security, to immerse the idols at homes.

Arrangements for immersion:
This year as many as 100 mobile tanks have been arranged by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the immersion of the Ganesh idols. Likewise, 191 Ganesh idols collection centres too have been started in the city. PMC also has made arrangements to collect the ‘nirmalya’ from door-to-door. Besides that corporation also giving out Sodium Biocarbonate free of cost to the citizens.

It has also made arrangements of ‘kalash’, at regular intervals so as to avoid inconvenience to people to immerse the idols. Meanwhile, authorities have appealed people to immerse the idols at their residences.

After PMC received complaints regarding the immersion of Ganesh idols of one and half day and fifth day in the river, similarly, people came out of the houses on a huge number and visited the pandals. To avoid similar incidents on 10th day immersion, PMC taking immediate action barricaded the areas and made arrangements for the immersion”, Mohol added.
