Pune: Gelatin Sticks, Detonator Wires Found in Tingrenagar; Vishrantwadi Police Launch Probe

Vishrantwadi, 25th November 2025: Panic gripped Tingrenagar after a sack containing gelatin sticks and detonator wires was found abandoned near Saikrupa Lodge at Vidyanagar Gali No. 8 in Vishrantwadi. The discovery prompted an immediate police response, with the area cordoned off and a bomb squad called in for inspection.

Around 9.30 am, sanitation workers from Vidyanagar Arogya Kothi spotted the suspicious sack while cleaning the roadside near the gate of a vacant plot. When alerted, Vishrantwadi police examined the bag and recovered 138 gelatin sticks and 135 detonator wires, collectively valued at Rs 10,920. The material is typically used for rock-breaking in construction work.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) seized the explosives and conducted a thorough inspection. Police said there was no immediate threat to public safety.

A case has been registered against Rahul Sudam Waje and Kisan Dhanwate, both residents of Shirur, for negligent storage of hazardous materials likely to endanger human life. Police Constable Yashwant Kirve lodged the complaint.
