Pune: Girish Bapat Exercises Right To Vote In Kasba By-Election Amidst Health Struggles
Shaniwar Peth, 26th February 2023: Amid the ongoing Kasba by-election voting, Girish Bapat, a former MLA and current MP, arrived at AhilyaDevi High School for Girls in Shaniwar Peth in Kasba Constituency at 5 pm to cast his vote. Despite battling an illness, Bapat’s presence at the polling station garnered attention.
Bapat had been an MLA from the same constituency for the past 25 years, and his opinion holds significant weight in the region. He participated in the campaign for a day, even though he was sick, which drew criticism from some. However, he exercised his right to vote today, demonstrating his commitment to the democratic process.
Bapat arrived in a wheelchair with an oxygen tube attached to his nose, indicating his poor health.
