Pune: Gold jewelry workers steal 466 grams of jewelry and rob businessman of Rs 26 lakhs

Pune, 18th April 2023: The workers who were making gold jewelry have stolen 466 grams of jewelry and robbed a businessman of Rs 26 lakhs. The Dattawadi police have arrested one person in this case, and they are currently searching for his accomplice. The incident occurred between 7th April and 13th April in Velankarnagar in Parvati.

The name of the arrested person is Santosh Raghunath Gaikar, a resident of Pirangut Mulshi. The businessman has filed a complaint at the Dattawadi police station regarding this matter.

The complainant is a gold jewelry manufacturer and seller. Santosh Gaikar, who worked in his shop, was given 264 grams of gold to make jewelry. Out of this, he made jewelry weighing 105 grams. The remaining 160 grams of gold were embezzled.

Another person involved in the case made ornaments weighing 560 grams out of 866 grams of gold and cheated the businessman by not giving the remaining 306 grams of jewelry. It was revealed that both of them had cheated the businessman of approximately Rs 26 lakhs. The police have arrested Santosh in this case, and the investigation is being carried out by police sub-inspector Chandrakant Kamthe.
