Pune: Guardian Minister Sets Deadline For Auditoriums Renovation By July 15

Pune, 5th June 2023: The renovation and repair of fourteen auditoriums in Pune City will require an estimated budget of seven crores, as stated in the pre-calculation sheet prepared by the Pune municipal corporation (PMC). Once the administrative approval is obtained, the repair work will commence. The auditoriums in Pune, known as the cultural capital, have been in a deteriorating state, lacking proper infrastructure.
Auditorium workers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the conditions on numerous occasions. Among the major auditoriums in the city are Balgandharva Rangmandir, Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmandir in Swargate area, Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium in Kothrud, and Annabhau Sathe Rangmandir in Satara Road area. Unfortunately, all four auditoriums suffer from issues such as inadequate drinking water facilities, unhygienic toilets, malfunctioning air conditioning, and sound systems, and require painting.
Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil has taken note of the poor condition of the auditoriums and has directed that the repair work be completed by July 15. He has also instructed the municipal administration to gather suggestions from citizens and auditorium workers to ensure the renovation meets their needs. Consequently, the municipal administration has initiated the necessary proceedings.
