Pune: Gwalior-Daund Superfast Express Faces Fire Scare Near Talegaon, Swift Response Averts Disaster

Pune, 3rd December 2023: Passengers of Train number 22194, the Gwalior-Daund Superfast Express, experienced a harrowing incident as the train caught fire near Talegaon. The alarming situation led to panic among passengers, prompting some to make a narrow escape by jumping off the train.

The news broke when a vigilant X (Twitter) user, Shekhar Kumar, posted a photo alerting the public about the incident. He wrote, “Train 22194 Sushasan Express caught up Fire near Talegaon Pune station. Passengers got panic and jumped off.”

The gravity of the situation caught the attention of the Official Railway Seva twitter handle, which promptly responded, stating, “The concern of the passenger requires immediate attention. @Drmpune may please assist.”

In a commendable display of efficiency, DRM Pune responded to the tweet at 7.41 pm, assuring, “The issue has been resolved, and the train departed for the destination station.”

Further details emerged from the RPF Pune at 8.01 pm, shedding light on the sequence of events. The Gwalior-Daund Superfast Express had come to a halt at TGN station around 4.36 pm, reporting smoke emanating from the rear SLR (NC205707/C) due to brake binding. The dedicated efforts of the railway staff saw the fire extinguished at 4.55 pm, with brake pressure released and rectified by the C&W staff at 6 pm.
