Pune: Hadapsar Railway Station May Soon Get PMPML Bus Terminal to Improve Last-Mile Connectivity
Hadapsar, 8th July 2025: In a move aimed at improving multimodal connectivity for commuters in Pune, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) Chairman and Managing Director Deepa Mudhol-Munde (IAS) conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed PMPML bus stand and parking facility near Hadapsar Railway Station on Tuesday.
The inspection is part of PMPML’s efforts to strengthen the integration of public transport systems and enhance last-mile connectivity for passengers arriving by train. The proposed terminal, to be developed by the Railway Administration, is expected to house the PMPML bus stand and parking area, offering direct and efficient bus services to major parts of Pune.
“Our main objective is to provide better facilities for railway passengers and make PMPML bus services more accessible and effective,” said Mudhol-Munde. “Once the space is allotted within the upcoming terminal at Hadapsar railway station, PMPML will be able to operate direct routes to important areas of the city. This coordination between railway and bus services will significantly improve travel convenience for commuters,” she added.

Currently, bus route no. 156 operates a shuttle service to and from Hadapsar Railway Station, while routes 160, 168, and 169 also stop nearby, allowing passengers to reach the station within minutes. However, the shuttle services have been encountering issues due to the narrow access roads, and PMPML is working closely with the Railway Administration to address these challenges.
The inspection team included Satish Gavane, PMPML Chief Transport Manager (Operations); Sameer Atar, Hadapsar Depot Manager; Sanjay Lohatre, Chief Project Manager from the Railway Administration; Senior Officer Saxena and Chief Booking Officer Sontakke.
