Pune: Have Boarding Pass of flight then separate pass not required for airport travel

Pune, May 25, 2020: In a major relief to air travellers, Pune City police have made it clear that separate is not required for travel to or from Pune airport if the passenger has a boarding pass. The domestic flight services have started from today at Pune airport in Lohegaon.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bachchan Singh, who is co-ordinating passes for travel within the city, said, “To facilitate flight travellers who are using private vehicles for pick/drop at the Pune airport, the Boarding Pass will be considered as Digital Pass. No separate pass will be required.”

 

Till 4 pm today, a total of four flights came with 354 passengers and three flights departed with 622 passengers. A total of 17 flights have resumed services from Pune for eight destinations. Meanwhile, Pune airport authority has clarified that they don’t ask passengers to wear Certified Medical PPE kit with Full Body Coverall, Hood while travelling for safety purpose.

 

“Our only requirements are Green on Aarogya Setu, normal body temperature and face mask at all times. All arriving passengers at Pune airport are hand stamped and advised 14 days home isolation with self-monitoring of their health. Kindly co-operate with our security staff to curb the spread of disease. All passengers at Pune airport may please note that we have very limited parking facility. No overnight or long term parking is available”, the airport authority said.

 

Meanwhile, if a passenger wants to reach Pune airport or wants to travel home from the airport, they can make use of dial a rickshaw facility on mobile number 9859198591. In compliance with Maharashtra government guidelines, no app-based cab aggregators are available at Pune. The passengers have to travel to and from the airport either in their vehicles or the autorickshaw facility provided. “There is a fleet of 350 autorickshaws available. We are serving passengers in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad”, said CityGlide Auto CEO Rahul Shitole, who is facilitating the autorickshaw travel.
