Mulshi, 20th August 2025: With continuous heavy rainfall in the catchment area, water levels at Mulshi Dam have risen sharply, pushing the reservoir to 97.4% capacity. In response, dam authorities adjusted the discharge into the Mula River on Wednesday afternoon.

The outflow, which had been maintained at 31,500 cusecs, was reduced to 22,700 cusecs at 3:00 pm. Officials said further changes in the discharge may be made depending on rainfall intensity and inflow trends.

Residents along the riverbanks have been urged to remain on alert as water levels could fluctuate with little notice. Authorities have strictly advised citizens not to enter the riverbed and requested that livestock, belongings, and other materials in low-lying areas be shifted to safer locations immediately.

The advisory, issued by Suresh Kondubhairi of Tata Power, also emphasized the need for local administrations to keep citizens informed and ensure preventive measures are in place to avoid flood-related risks.
