Pune : History-Sheeters Abduct Two Women For Extortion, Four Arrested

Pune 15th Sept 2023: The Anti Extortion Cell of Pune City Police has arrested four people from Uttamnagar area and have rescued two women who were abducted to demand for extortion by the accused. The incident came to light after one of the victims’ sons reached out to police to seek help in the matter.

The victim women identified as Minakshi Pokhare and Manisha Pawar were assaulted and kept locked inside a house by the accused in Uttamnagar area. The accused has asked for Rs 17 lakh extortion from the complainant to let go of his mother and another victim. The police team after receiving the details swiftly acted on the matter and the location of the victims was traced.

Four accused identified as Babulal Laxan Mohol (45), Amar Nandkumar Mohite (39), Pradip Prabhakar Nalawade (38) and Akshay Maruti Phad (24) were taken into custody by the police. It was revealed that Mohol is a history sheeter and has ten different cases registered against him in the past while Mohites has five cases and Nalawade has two cases registered for different offences in the past. A case under relevant section is being registered at Uttamnagar police station in the matter.

 

According to police, the accused wanted to take shops at the Pune Railway Station for business and the women had promised to help. However, the women did not get shops for them and the accused alleged that they faced lossed of Rs 6 lakh due to this. To take revenge for this, the women were abducted by the accused and they had demanded extortion money.
