Wagholi, 20th May 2025: A hoarding collapsed amid heavy rainfall in Sanaswadi near Wagholi on the Pune–Ahilyanagar Road on Tuesday, damaging several bikes parked beneath it. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when intense rain and strong winds swept through the area. Eyewitnesses said the hoarding suddenly gave way, crushing around seven to eight bikes.

Local authorities were alerted immediately, and teams were dispatched to clear the debris. The hoarding may have weakened due to continuous exposure to harsh weather conditions.

“With pre-monsoon showers intensifying, such incidents could increase if precautionary measures are not taken,” a civic official said. “We urge property owners and advertisers to inspect and reinforce hoardings and other temporary structures.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall in Pune and surrounding areas.
