Pune, 21st June 2025: In celebration of International Yoga Day, Pune hosted a large-scale spiritual and wellness gathering, Warkari Bhaktiyog 2025, at the Khashaba Jadhav Sports Complex, located within Savitribai Phule Pune University. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students, yoga practitioners, spiritual leaders, and citizens of all age groups.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Ministers Chandrakant Patil and Madhuri Misal. Their presence highlighted the growing significance of integrating India’s spiritual traditions with modern wellness practices.

Speaking at the event, Fadnavis said, “Today, those who have long followed the path of Raj Yoga are now embracing Bhakti Yoga. Yoga not only strengthens the body but also heals the mind. It is a powerful medium of transformation. Through these practices, I envision a society that is both healthy and harmonious.”

The event was jointly organized by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Municipal Corporation, Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan (Alandi), and Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sansthan (Dehu). The collaboration aimed to instill a sense of devotion, mindfulness, and holistic wellness—particularly among the younger generation.

The program began at 7:30 AM with a mass yoga session, followed by spiritual discourses and devotional bhajans. The sports complex was transformed into a vibrant center of faith and collective well-being.
Chandrakant Patil emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering emotional and spiritual growth alongside academic excellence. “Events like these build a vital bridge between our traditions and the modern world,” he remarked.

One of the event’s key highlights was the live telecast to 167 schools across Maharashtra, allowing thousands of students to join virtually. The theme, “One Earth, One Health,” echoed a global message of interconnected well-being.

A particularly moving moment came when a young yoga practitioner from ISKCON, dressed in a traditional saree, participated in the session alongside her parents. She shared that yoga helps nurture both a healthy body and a peaceful, illness-free soul.

Warkari Bhaktiyog 2025 concluded with a collective pledge to continue promoting physical, mental, and spiritual health through inclusive, culturally rooted initiatives.
