Pune: Hotel Manager Arrested After Putting Advertisement Of Open Liquor Sale Infront Of Reputed University

Loni Kalbhor, 22nd July 2022: A hotelier in Loni Kalbhor has started the open sale of liquor at the gate of a reputed private university in the Loni Kalbhor area by advertising “unlimited liquor for two hours for Rs 799”.

Pune senior lawyer Adv Asim Sarode’s post about the above incident was circulated through Facebook on Thursday (July 21) evening, the citizens noticed the advertisement at the gate of a renowned private university in Loni Kalbhor area. Meanwhile, the Loni Kalbhor police also took immediate action and registered a case against the manager of the hotel “The Tipsy Tales Hotel” in the Kadamwakwasti area.

The name of the manager has been identified as Deviprasad Subhash Shetty (33), a resident of B-1001, Jaimala Business Court, Shewalwadi, Haveli. Police Naik Pradeep Bhimrao Kshirsagar of Loni Kalbhor Police Station has filed an FIR in this matter.

According to local residents, there is a hotel called The Tipsy Tales in the Loni Station area, which is run by Deviprasad Subhash Shetty. A few days ago, to increase the liquor business of his hotel, Shetty had started opening the sale of liquor in front of the entrance of a large private college in Loni Kalbhor by announcing “Unlimited liquor for college students for Rs 799 for two hours.”

Despite the ban on the sale of liquor within 100 meters from the entrance of a school, college or university, Shetty was openly selling liquor to college students. Locals tried to raise their voices about this, but Shetty with the help of local goons and silenced the voice of the citizens.

Meanwhile, after Pune’s senior lawyer Adv Asim Sarode’s Facebook post, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi of Loni Kalbhor and other officials went to the hotel and registered a case against Shetty. Further investigation is being conducted by Police Sub-Inspector Vaibhav More.
