Pune: Hunger Strike Planned Against Khadi Machine In Purandar

Purandar, 27th February 2023: Six villages in the Gulunche Karnalwadi area in Purandar taluka have started a hunger strike against Khadi Machine from 11 am on Monday (27th February). 17 villagers in the area are on hunger strike and about 300 villagers are sitting in front of the provincial office of Saswad for this protest.

Despite the opposition of the villagers of Pimpre, Thopetewadi, Pisurti, Valhe, Sukalwadi along with Gukunche Karnalwadi, the planned demolition of the Khadi Machine is still going on.

Before the villagers of Gulunche Karnalwadi take a role against Khadi Machine, Shailendra Raskar, director of Someshwar in Baramati taluka, should not drop the planned Khadi Machine project that they are against Khadi Machine in the meeting.

Even after that, the villagers filed a complaint with the Jejuri police after an explosion of gelatin took place at the planned Khadimashi place, and vibrations of the same were felt nearby the ancient cave. Even after this, no action was taken, and the villagers warned of a hunger strike. During this, Raskar met opposition leader Ajit Pawar, MLA Sanjay Jagtap, and former state minister Vijay Shivtare.

Last week, Supriya Sule discussed with the Pune District Collector. Villagers were still not satisfied after the District Collector’s assurance. On Monday morning, villagers from the Gulunche Karnalwadi area started a fast in front of the sub-divisional office at Saswad.

On this occasion, Atul Mhaske of Shiv Sena, Manik Nimbalkar, Haribhau Lole, Taluka President of Congress Pradip Poman, Vitthal Mokashi, Sambhaji Kalane, Bhagyawan Mhaske, Ashok Tekawade of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Prof Digambar Durgade, Sudam Ingle, Pushkaraj Jadhav, Viraj Kakade, Bandukaka Jagtap, Dilip Girme of Farmers’ Association, Gangaram Jagdale of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Sachin Lambate, Saket Jagtap, Amol Jagtap, Navnath Barkade, all party office bearers supported against the movement.
