Pune Police Arrests Two from Delhi for Lewd Conversations with Women in Elite Areas
Shivajinagar, 27th February 2023: Pune police have arrested two individuals, Chetan Masi Dasi and Kavita Anil Sharma, both hailing from Delhi, for obtaining the mobile numbers of women in elite areas of Pune and engaging in lewd conversations with them. Chetan Dasi, aged 32 and a resident of Virendranagar, Delhi, was the main culprit, who used various tactics to trap unsuspecting women.
The arrest was made after the Shivajinagar police received a complaint and initiated an investigation. After conducting a technical investigation, the police learned that the accused were based in Delhi. A team consisting of Police Sub-Inspector Manisha Jadhav, and Rupesh Waghmare, and Adesh Chalawadi, were sent to Delhi to investigate.
During the investigation, the police seized CCTV footage from 250 locations in Delhi, leading to the identification of the accused. Chetan and Kavita were subsequently caught in the Ghaziabad area, where the police seized nine mobile phones and SIM cards from them. The police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and remanded them in custody.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Rajendra Dahale, DCP (Zone 1) Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Gajanan Tompe and Senior Police Inspector Arvind Mane, Inspector (crime) Vikram Goud.
