Pune: Husband Arrested for Murdering Wife Over Infidelity Suspicion, Body Dumped in Nashik

Pune, 26th April 2025: In a disturbing case from Pune District’s Indapur taluka, police have arrested a man for strangling his wife to death due to suspicions about her character and then disposing of her body in a deep gorge near Nandgaon in Nashik district. The mystery remained unsolved for three months until the police recovered the woman’s decomposed body and arrested the accused and his accomplice.

The accused, Jyotiram Kare, suspected his wife Priyanka of being unfaithful, which led to frequent arguments between the couple. On 29th January, Kare killed Priyanka by strangulation at their home in Indapur Taluka. He then transported her body nearly 300 kilometres to a gorge near Nandgaon in Nashik, where, with the help of a friend, he threw the body into a gorge about 150 feet deep.

After the murder, Jyotiram Kare filed a missing person complaint at the Indapur Police Station, claiming his wife had disappeared. However, police grew suspicious of his contradictory statements. Following a three-month-long investigation, the police took Kare to the site near Nandgaon, where they recovered Priyanka’s decomposed body from the gorge.

Both Jyotiram Kare and his accomplice Dattatray Golande have been arrested by the Indapur police.
