Pune: ICAI Launches ‘Train, Earn and Learn’ Initiative For Skill Development

Pune, 21st August 2021: In a noble initiative, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is launching an innovative initiative called ‘Train, Earn and Learn’ (TEL) to provide employment and experience to students while developing their skills in studying Chartered Accountant, said CA Manish Gadia, Chairman, Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of ICAI in the press conference.

WIRC officials have visited Pune on the occasion of a two-day refresher course on ‘Co-operation’ organized by ICAI here recently. He gave this information at a press conference which was held at ICAI Bhavan in Bibwewadi. Central Council Member CA Chandrasekhar Chitale, WIRC Vice President CA Drishti Desai, Secretary CA Arpit Kabra, WICASA Chairman CA Yashwant Kasar, Regional Council Member CA Anand Jakhotia, CA Umesh Sharma, Chairman & Treasure of ICAI Pune CA Sameer Ladda, Vice Chairman & Secretary CA Kashinath Pathare were present.

CA Manish Gadiya said that This is an important initiative to develop new skills in chartered accountancy before starting a job or business, as well as to get employment while learning. This is a 36-hour course with a fee of Rs. 200. Sonu Sood, a well-known actor, is the brand ambassador for the initiative.

CA Chandrasekhar Chitale said, “The Institute always helps the government to shape the economy. Chartered Accountants are in demand not only in the country but all over the world. The role of CA in the co-operative sector is very important.”

CA Sameer Ladda said, “Chartered Accountant’s course has spread from urban to rural areas. It has become easier for ordinary students to become CA. The Pune branch provides continuous guidance and support to students who want to do CA. Various activities are implemented for CA students and members.”

Minister of State for Co-operation Vishwajit Kadam inaugurated a two-day refresher course on ‘Co-operation’. During his short speech Vishwajit Kadam said that Maharashtra has a long tradition of co-operative sector. The active contribution of chartered accountants was important to take this sector forward.

Adv. Chinmay Bhosale, CA Shashank Patki, CA Sachin Ambekar, CA Satish Mundada, CA Ramesh Prabhu, CA Amit Mohare, CA D. A. Chowgule provided guidance on various topics.

The WIRC officials visited various organizations in Pune and held discussions with Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Chhavi Anupam, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), MIT Vishwashanti University, Pune Merchant Chamber, senior citizens organization, former Central and Divisional Committee members.

At Savitribai Phule Pune University and MIT Vishwashanti Vidyapeeth, the delegation appealed for cooperation in the dissemination of the ‘TEL’ initiative being implemented by ICAI.
