Pune: Illegal Arms Incidents Shake Pimpri-Chinchwad; Gang Attack Reported in Hinjawadi

Pimpri Chinchwad, 19th March 2025: In a series of incidents highlighting the presence of illegal weapons and violence in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, multiple cases have come to light. In Hinjawadi, a young man, Ajay Pandhare, was severely injured yesterday when five individuals attacked him with a koyta. The attack stemmed from a dispute during last year’s Ganeshotsav celebrations. Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.

Separately, in the Ravet area, a 24-year-old man, Kunal Sakale, was arrested for possessing a pistol and live ammunition. The weapon, valued at Rs 50,500, was seized by the Anti-Extortion Cell during an operation yesterday afternoon.

In another incident in Dehu Road, police apprehended a 19-year-old, Nagesh Balwadki, along with two minors, for carrying a pistol, a live cartridge, and a sharp object. The arrests were made yesterday evening after police received information about the trio travelling with weapons on two motorcycles.
