Pune: IM Sammed Shete wins 1st RCPP Blitz Chess Tournament
Pune, May 8, 2023: International Master Sammed Shete Won the 1st RCPP Blitz All India Open Chess Tournament which is being organized by Rotary club of Pune Pashan (RCPP) under the aegis of All India Chess Federation (AICF), Maharashtra Chess Association (MCA), and Pune District Chess Circle (PDCC) and played at PYC Hindu Gymkhana Pune.
In the 9th round 23 years old Sammed shete from Kolhapur Playing the Philidor Defense opening the game drew with GM Diptayan Ghosh with 35 moves to win the event. The winner IM Sammed Shete received trophy and RS.25000/, while runner up GM Diptayan Ghosh got a trophy and RS.15000/-. The prizes were given away at the hands of Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Ex. Vice Chancellor of Pune University, Mr. Sarang Lagu, Secretary of PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Rtn. Abhay Sawant, Rtn. Vinayak Gulwani. Rtn. Vivek Ratnalikar Cheif Arbiter Swapnil Bansode were present on the occasion.
