Pune: IMD Records Over 200 mm Rainfall At Lonavala In Last 24 Hours
Pune 18th July 2023 : The ghat sections of the district on Monday received a good rainfall as the Indian Meteorological Department has reported intense rain in several areas in the last 24 hours. According to IMD, 210.5 mm rainfall was recorded at Lonavala in the last 24 hours while 111.5 mm rainfall was recorded in Lavasa.
This indicates that in some parts of the ghat sections of the district have received a good rainfall in the last 24 hours. According to IMD report, 56.5 mm rainfall was recorded in Mulshi while 37.5 mm rainfall was reported in Junnar.
It may be noted that the IMD has issued an orange alert for the Pune district till July 21. ‘Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is likely to be reported on July 18, 20 and 21 while ‘extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is predicted for July 19.
