Pune: In Absence Of Local Train From Lonavla At 1 PM, Students Forced To Spend Over 2 Hours Daily At Station
Lonavla, 23rd August 2022: President of Pimpri Chinchwad Railway Passengers Association Iqbal Mulani alias Bhaijaan has requested General Manager of Central Railway Anil Kumar Lahoti to start local from Lonavala to Pune between 12.45 pm to 1 pm. Also, Maval MP Srirang Barane has given a statement and demanded to follow-up on this matter.
Morning session schools in Lonavala city end at 12:15 PM. There are about 13 to 14 primary schools, and colleges in Lonavla area. Similarly, the number of students is also few thousand.
All these students come for education from remote areas of Maval taluka including Malvali, Kamshet, Kanhe, Vadgaon, Talegaon, Dehuroad and Akurdi. Some teachers also come to the school from Dehuroad, Kasarwadi as well as Pune.
Local trains are available to come to school in the morning but as some schools end at 12:15 pm there is a local to Pune at 2:50 pm. These students have to sit at the railway station for almost 2.45 hours. This wastes the children’s study time, due to which the rate of absenteeism from school is also increasing due to travel fatigue.
In order to remove this inconvenience caused by the school students, Mulani has demanded that a local train should be started from Lonavla station to Pune, considering this demand positively.
