Pune International Exhibition Center To Witness Maharashtra’s Largest MSME Defence Expo

Pune, 16th February 2024: In alignment with the vision of self-reliance and the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Maharashtra is set to host its inaugural MSME Defence Expo from 24th to 26th February at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Presented by the Maharashtra Government and supported by Nibe Limited as the knowledge partner, the expo is a significant step towards fortifying the state’s defence capabilities.

The event, strategically partnered with L&T, Solar Industries, Tata Advance Systems, Bharat Forge, and supported by DRDO and DPSUs, focuses on Land, Airspace, and Maritime Security Systems, making it one of the most extensive defence expos in the region.

Inaugural Dignitaries and Political Presence:
The expo’s inaugural day will witness a distinguished gathering, including leaders such as S. N. Subrahmanyan (Chairman and Managing Director, L&T), Ravi Kant (DPSUs Chairman), Satyanarayan Nuwal (Chairman Solar Industries), Baba Kalyani (Chairman Bharat Forge), and Ganesh Nibe (CMD of Nibe Limited). Political luminaries, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with other prominent ministers, will contribute to the event’s significance.

Key Highlights:

1. Industry Synergy and Collaboration: Over 500 MSMEs, start-ups, and 20,000 engineering students are expected to participate, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

2. Cutting-edge Technologies: The expo aims to showcase state-of-the-art technologies and proficiencies in defence production, providing lucrative business opportunities and potential deals worth hundreds of crores.

3. Strategic Utilization for MSMEs and Start-ups: Attendees can explore defence technology exports, connect with Indian buyers, offset OEMs, and engage in B2B meetings.

4. Discussion on Future Challenges: The expo will host discussions on future challenges in indigenous development in the defence sector, with a focus on technology transfer agreements with MSMEs.
