Pune: IPS Officer Booked For Demanding Sexual Pleasure From Widow

Katraj, 5th May 2023: In a disturbing incident, an IPS officer has been accused of demanding sexual favours from a woman via social media, leading to a case of molestation being registered against him.

The officer, Nilesh Ashok Ashtekar, who is posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Pune, has been booked under the IT Act and molestation charges, based on a complaint filed by a 31-year-old woman.

According to the victim’s complaint, Ashtekar contacted her via Facebook Messenger, introduced himself as an IPS officer, and asked if she wanted to join the police. When she told him about her sister’s son who is preparing for the police recruitment. He then asked for her mobile number, saying that he will help in his recruitment. Ashtekar allegedly started demanding sexual favours through WhatsApp messages and video calls, and even made a nude video call. The incident took place between 19th February and 1st March.

The case was registered at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station. Assistant Commissioner of Police Narayan Shirgaonkar is currently investigating the matter.
