Pune : Kalicharan Maharaj Booked For Objectionable Statement During An Event
Pune 30th August 2023: The Pune City Police have booked Kalicharan Maharaj alias Abhijeet Sarag for making a controversial statement against a religion at an event in Pune. The case was filed after the police officials received a clip of an objectionable statement and they verified it in detail.
According to police, Kalicharan Maharaj was invited as a guest at ‘Hindu Janjagarn Sabha’ an event organised at Sun City Road in the city on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary. During the event, he made some objectionable statements that according to police could hurt religious sentiments. A case in this regard has been registered at Sinhagad Police Station and police are investigating further in the matter.
It may be noted that Kalicharan has been booked in the past as well for his controversial religious remarks. He was also arrested by police for his objectionable statements.
The event where Kalicharan Maharaj made the objectionable statement was organised on March 11, said officials.
