Pune: Kariya, Pawar, Shah, Aggarwal lift titles at Maharashtra State Closed Squash Championships
Pune, 17 September 2022: Reyansh Kariya, Manya Sanghvi, Aditya Ghodke , Drishti Pawar, Hridan Shah, Anika Dubey, Adhish Kancharla, Reiva Nimbalkar, Sakina Bhanpurwala, Avinash Yadav, Sunita Patel, Sanjay Pawar, Vinay Routhan, Sameer Khare won titles in their age groups at the Maharashtra State Closed Squash Championship which will be organized by Maharashtra State Racquets Association, Ekta Yuvak Vikas Mandal and Poona District Squash Racquets Association under the auspices of Squash Rackets Association of India(SRAI) and played at The Westin Hotel, Koregaon Park and RSI Club Camp Pune.
In the Upsets on the final day in the Boys Under 11 second seeded Reyansh Kariya upset top seeded Burhan Bhanpurwala 7-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-5, 11-8 , In the Boys Under 15 unseeded Hridan Shah third seeded Arjun More 11-8, 11-8, 11-4
In the Girls Under 15 unseeded Anika Dubey scraped past third seeded Kareena Phipps 13-11, 12-10, 3-11, 2-11, 11-9
Second seeded Reiva Nimbalkar also scored a close win to upset Tisha Jasani 11-1, 10-12, 4-11, 11-7, 11-9 to win the Girls Under 17 event :
In the Under-19 Boys fourth seeded Kris Dembla scored a 11-4, 11-2, 8-11, 11-9 win over Lakshya Motiyal to win the crown
