Pune: Kashmiri Girls Benefit from Lighthouse Kiran Program and Digital Empowerment Training at Azam Campus
Camp, 1st March 2023: Azam Campus and the Lighthouse Communities Foundation have collaborated to offer a life-changing opportunity to 20 bright and talented Kashmiri girls. The Lighthouse Kiran program, hosted at Azam Campus, aimed to equip these young adolescents with essential skills and knowledge to positively impact their communities.
Throughout the 15-day program last month, the participants engaged in various activities, including vision board creation, stress management, growth mindset development, and the exploration of different zones of being. These activities helped the students identify and pursue their dreams and goals, providing them with the tools to achieve success.
The program also included a Digital Empowerment module that equipped the students with the necessary training to use government facilities and services, such as social networking, Aple Sarkar, Pan Card, Adhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID card, Swachhta Application, and Digi Locker. This module helped increase their digital literacy and access to vital resources, boosting their confidence and motivation to share their newly acquired knowledge with their communities.
The participants provided overwhelmingly positive feedback on both the Lighthouse Kiran and Digital Empowerment programs, citing a lack of prior knowledge about these digital resources and the need for clarity on how to proceed before attending the programs. The programs boosted their confidence and inspired them to share their newfound knowledge with their communities.
Azam Campus and the Lighthouse Communities Foundation are committed to continuing their partnership to provide more courses like these, empowering young people with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age. The Lighthouse Kiran program aimed to help adolescents feel competent, autonomous, and valued, resulting in higher self-motivation and inspiration to learn.
