Pune: Key IT Corridor in Hinjewadi Hit by Traffic Curbs Till April 26; Wipro Circle–MIDC Circle Stretch Reduced to Single Lane for Cable Repairs
Hinjewadi, 20th April 2026: Traffic movement between Wipro Circle and MIDC Circle in Hinjewadi Phase-2 has been restricted to a single lane due to ongoing cable repair work near Metro Station No. 3, opposite the Doehler company, traffic police said on Sunday.
The Hinjawadi Traffic Division has issued an advisory asking commuters to use the stretch only if necessary and avoid the route as far as possible until the work is completed.
According to officials, the repair work was undertaken after a technical fault was detected in an underground cable belonging to the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL). Road excavation is currently underway at the site, resulting in traffic being allowed through only one lane on the affected stretch.
Authorities warned that congestion is likely in the area, especially during peak hours between 8 am and 11 am and again from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Traffic police have urged motorists to plan their travel in advance and use alternate routes wherever possible. Employees working in the IT hub were also advised to leave early or opt for public transport to avoid delays.
Officials said the repair work is progressing on priority and is expected to be completed by April 26, 2026. Until then, traffic on the route will remain restricted.
The administration appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on the ground and exercise patience during the temporary disruption.
