Pune, 19th June 2025: The ongoing water discharge from the Khadakwasla Dam, currently at 8,734 cusecs, has been increased to 15,000 cusecs at 9:30 PM tonight, according to the Central Control Room of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The release is expected to rise in stages, depending on rainfall intensity in the catchment area.

Given the potential for further increase in discharge, an alert has been issued across areas under PMC jurisdiction. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and ensure that no livestock or property is left near riverbanks. Authorities have also requested all administrative departments to take necessary precautions.

The advisory comes at a time when large numbers of Warkaris and devotees are arriving in Pune for the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession. The civic body has instructed officials to ensure that no Warkaris or devotees enter the riverbed and that proper security and safety measures are in place.
