Pune, 7th February 2024: Pune Court has pronounced a five-year jail term and imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on Sagar Lal Singh Rathod (31), a resident of Jaysingpur, Taluka Shirol, Kolhapur. The sentence comes in response to Rathod’s submission of a counterfeit certificate during the recruitment process for the Railway Police Force in Pune.

Rathod’s fraudulent actions led to a case being registered against him at Khadki Police Station, subsequently resulting in his arrest. Following thorough investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Umaji Rathod and the filing of a charge sheet, Rathod was brought before the court.

Upon considering the arguments presented by government lawyers, the court found Rathod guilty under various sections of the law. Consequently, the First Class Magistrate of the Khadki Court sentenced Rathod to five years of hard labor and imposed a fine of Rs 4,000.
