Pune: Lack Of Safety Measures Frustrates Residents As Road Excavation Continues In Perfect 10 Society Balewadi
Balewadi, 13th June 2023: Residents of Perfect 10 Society in Balewadi, Pune are expressing their frustration and discontent over the negligence observed during the repair of a 24×7 water pipeline. The ongoing excavation work being carried out by L&T on the road outside the society has resulted in the damage of the previously constructed cement road, which was a part of the smart city project.
The major cause of concern for the residents is the lack of safety measures implemented by the contractor. No barricades or caution signs have been placed around the construction site, posing a risk to both residents and commuters. Consequently, the road has remained in a state of excavation for a week, causing significant inconvenience to the residents of Perfect 10 Society.
The excavation has led to the road becoming narrow and congested with construction heavy vehicles and tankers, making it difficult for residents to exit through their gate. Additionally, the absence of street lights in the area due to the ongoing work has created a dark and unsafe environment.
Ameya Jagtap, Chairman of Perfect 10 Society, Balewadi, Pune, highlighted the poor planning and mismanagement demonstrated by the contractor. The excavation of the existing cement road not only results in wastage of public funds but also emphasizes the need for improved coordination and adherence to safety protocols.
The residents are urging the authorities to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure the safety and convenience of the community. It is essential for the contractor to rectify the damages caused, provide proper safety measures, and expedite the completion of the repair work. The residents hope that the concerned authorities will take prompt and decisive action to resolve this matter, restoring the road and ensuring the safety of everyone in the area.
