Pune: Largest LSD Seizure Yet as Another 1,250 Stamps Confiscated from Smugglers; Total Value of Seized Narcotics Reaches Rs 1.16 Crore

Pune, 26th May 2023: In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Pune city police has confiscated an additional 1,250 counterfeit LSD stamps from a group of high schoolers involved in an online food delivery scam. The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be around Rs 62.7 lakh.
With this latest seizure, the total value of narcotics recovered from the five suspects now stands at a staggering Rs 1.16 crore, making it the largest sting operation carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Squad in recent times.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohan Deepak Gavai, aged 24, residing in DP Road, Karve Putla; Sushant Kashinath Gaikwad, aged 26, from Sambhajinagar, Kodoli, presently residing in Baner; Dhiraj Deepak Lalwani, aged 24, from Pimple-Saudagar; Deepak Laxman Gehlot, aged 25, from Anandnagar; and Omkar Ramesh Patil, aged 25, residing in Patil Sai Villa, Wakad.

During the interrogation of one of the arrested suspects, Omkar Patil, he disclosed that he had stored the LSD stamps in the trunk of his motorcycle. Acting swiftly on this information, the team, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, apprehended Patil and discovered the 1,250 LSD stamps with an approximate value of Rs 62.3 lakh hidden in the motorcycle’s trunk.
