Pune Lawyer Files Complaint Against Actress Swara Bhaskar For Her Tweet Comparing Taliban With ‘Hindutva Terror’
Pune, 22 August 2021: A tweet by Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar can land her in trouble. A criminal complaint has been lodged against the actress under sections 153A and 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Faraskhana police station under Pune city police for comparing ‘Hindutva terror’ with Taliban. However, no FIR has been registered yet.
Pune-based lawyer Vijay Rathore, who complained against the actress, has alleged that the actress has defamed the entire Hindu religion by comparing Hindutva to the Taliban. In this way, they have hurt the sentiments of a particular community.
Swara Bhaskar posted a tweet on 17 August. She wrote – “We can’t be okay with Hindutva terror & be all shocked & devastated at Taliban terror.. & We can’t be chill with #Taliban terror; and then be all indignant about #Hindutva terror! Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed.”
Her tweet is getting trolled massively. Some are demanding suspension of Swara’s account and some arrest. One user wrote- ‘Hindutva is infamous because of you people, because you people have created a new definition by yourself’.
