Pune: Lawyer Sagar Suryavanshi Sent To Yerwada Central Jail

Pune, 14th October 2021: Adv Sagar Suryavanshi, who has been arrested by the Maharashtra Crime Investigation Department (CID), was remanded to Yerwada Central Jail on Thursday. Suryavanshi is accused of extortion, cheating related to land matters in Pune and other places.

After his arrest in Shukrawar Peth last week, he had complained of chest pain. So he was admitted to Sassoon Hospital. After treatment, he was produced before a judicial magistrate who remanded him to magisterial custody remand and sent him to Yerwada Central Prison.

His lawyer had filed a bail application which was dismissed by the court.

Meanwhile, Pimpri Chinchwad police have filed applications for custody of Suryavanshi to investigate cases registered against him.

According to CID, there are cases registered against Suryavanshi in Shivaji Nagar, Lashkar police stations, and also at Pimpri, Bhosari MIDC, Hinjewadi and Navghar Police stations. Police had been searching for him for the last three years.

The police had also confirmed his involvement in a cheating case of Seva Vikas Bank amounting to Rs 50 crores. His bungalow, located at Koregaon Park, has been seized and will allegedly be auctioned soon by the bank that has repossessed it.
