Pune: Lawyers Call Off Strike After Government Assures Protection Bill
Pune, 1st November 2025: Lawyers from all courts in the district, including the Shivajinagar Court, had announced a strike on Monday (November 3) to demand a law ensuring the protection of lawyers. However, the strike has now been called off following a positive response from the state government.
The Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa decided to withdraw the statewide protest after the government assured that a bill for the protection of lawyers would be introduced in the upcoming assembly session.
Accordingly, the Pune Bar Association has also withdrawn its call for the strike. Lawyers will attend court proceedings as usual on Monday, said Pune Bar Association President Hemant Zanjad.
